April 26, part 2

What a day, guys. We were supposed to start out at 8, but the fog was so heavy, we waited until 9. It stayed overcast until 10:30 a.m. then it was just hot, hot, hot. Some of us to a slight detour today to Wakulla Springs State Park. Lovely!!! We stopped at the lodge for a quick lunch, which didn't turn out to be too quick. But then we got on the 2 p.m. boat ride over the river. And who sits down right behind me on the boat? A couple from Ingelheim, Germany! We had a great conversation while viewing the ALLIGATORS!! Yes, folks, real, live alligators in the wild. And some gorgeous birds, turtles and lots of other wildlife. Then Helen and I rode the 10 miles onto the motel. Do you remember a while ago, when I told you we saw some Germans in a camper in St. Francisville, Louisiana? Who should be driving down the road towards us but this camper! I waved but am not sure they recognized me. When I drove by the bank, I saw that the temperature was still 89 degrees Fahrenheit at 4:30 p.m. (16:30) Anyway, we're in a quiet, out-of-the-way motel and tomorrow is our last rest day. I'm doing my last wash now and tomorrow a few of us plan to go rent kayaks and paddle down the river. It was a good day._____________ Unglaublich!
