April 22, part 1

Wow. guys. The ride today was a piece of cake. We caught the 8 a.m. ferry across Mobile Bay and just ride with a tailwind all the way to Pensacola. Beautiful sunshine, beautiful white sand. But no countryside anymore. Houses everywhere. No more going to the bathroom in the bushes!! In Gulf Port, AL they have this great zip line park. (It was great, Rod!) There were about a dozen towers 30 feet high, with zip lines running between them. Over lakes, swamps and everything. Looked like the people were having a great time. Some of us stopped at a place called Triggers for lunch. I had a wonderful shrimp and crab bisque and an order of hush pupppies. Those son-of-a-guns were good. The motel is right in the middle of downtown Pensacola, about 3 blocks from the historic district. Helen, Sandy and I went exploring at 3, but unfortunately, the museums all close at 4! Rats. So we just walked around and looked at the beautiful buildings with the wrought iron decorations. It reminds me a lot of Galveston or NEw Orleans. Am now at the library so that I don't have to do a lower case blog. Sandy and I are going to go out for supper later. The weather forecast says we are going to have sunshine for the next 10 days. Can't beat that.________________ Wir waren schnell in Pensacola. Wir fuhren an einem Zip Line PArk vorbei mit ganz hohe Tuerme und Seilen dazwischen gespannt, an die die Leute entlang hoch ueber die Erde (oder ueber Wass oder Sumpfgebiet) gleiten. Pensacola is ganz huebsch, wie ein kleiner NEw ORleans.
